  • Does my chain link fence need to have concrete around the posts?
    We recommend fence posts to have a concrete foundation around them in order to guarantee maximum fence durability and sturdiness.
  • How do you fix a broken fence? And is it fixable?
    Broken elements are replaced, leaning posts are repacked, gates are adjusted. If your fence is broken or damaged, more than likely we can fix it. Georgian Bay Fencing offers complete repairs to our customers as needed.
  • Can you build a fence without digging holes?
    To install fence in dirt, holes are necessary.
  • Can you install a fence when the ground is frozen?
    With powerful machinery and our skilled team, the Georgian Bay Fencing team is able to install fence all year round.
  • How long does it take to install a fence and gate?
    Most of the residential fences that we provide are installed in one to two days. Same as the gate, we can build it and install it in one day.
  • How long does a fence installation take?
    It really depends on many factors, the type of fence, length, and site conditions all contribute to how long it takes. Generally speaking though, an average job takes 1-2 days for most fences.
  • How tall can I build my fence?
    Most fences are 4', 5' or 6' in height. However, we can install shorter or taller fences based on your needs upon request.
  • What size gate can I get?
    Walk gates (1 man gate) is usually 4’ wide. Double drive access gates (2 man gate) are often 8’ or 10’ wide.
  • How do I locate my property line?
    Generally, people use their lot plans from when they purchased their homes. Your lot plan will have measurements which will help you locate your property line and mark it out before we arrive. MOST people mark out the fence line early, as this allows neighbours to see the planned installation with notice to avoid problems when the installation crew arrives on site. There are also online tools that can help you with this, as well as bringing in a professional surveyor.
  • How close to the property line can I build a fence?
    Most municipalities allow fence to be at, not on or over, the property line.
  • Does a fence increase home value?
    A fence increases home value by adding beauty and security to the property.
  • Do I have to be home during my fence installation?
    No, you don’t have to be home the entire time that we are working at your property, but we do need you to meet you once prior to starting in order to go over the details of the job with our team.
